Simon Belcher

Simon started his racing career on water at the age of 19 racing jet-skis.
This real talent took him around the World and through his career he rode for 2 manufacture teams (Kawasaki / SeaDoo). Between 1996 – 2000 Simon captured no less than 4 British Championship titles and the European Championship title as well as becoming the highest ever placed British rider in the World Championships premier Pro Modified Class (6th Overall)
Simon retired from Jet Ski racing at the end of 2001 and switched to dry land to enter the highly competitive Legends Cars series. This was a steep learning curve for a driver with no previous motorsport experience, but he soon mastered these pocket rockets and was mixing it with the front-runners.
The
highlight of Simon’s Legends Cars career was at
the World Championships in the USA finishing 2nd
in the Semi Pro World Championship in 2003 and 4th
in the Pro World Championship in 2010. In 2011
Handy Motorsport launched project BTCC and Simon
moved on from Legends Cars in preparation for
the 2012 Air Asia Renault Clio Cup.
Stephen Treherne – Car #12

After a succesful career in Ministox between the ages of 10 and 15 where he won the National Championship 3 times, Stephen joined Legends in 2000 when he was 16 years old. He won the Rookie Championship and also had several race wins and one outright meeting win.
In 2001 Stephen was 5th in the National Championship but then took a break from racing to complete his education at Durham University. Back in Legends for the 2004 season Stephen had his best year yet taking more wins and finishing fourth in the championship.
Since then Stephen has focused on his business career but a limited programme in Legends racing saw him win the Winter Trophy and take 12th overall in the 2007 National championship.
2008
saw Stephen lift the Team Championship title in
his first year racing for Handy Motorsport and
Karcher, he followed this in 2009 & 2010 as
overall championship runner up before finally
lifting the crown in 2011. In 2011 Stephen
showed his class by winning almost twice as many
races as the second placed driver in the
championship and three times as many races as
the 2010 champion. |
