Handy Motorsport came away from Rockingham having secured first and second place in round four of the championship. Stephen Treherne also holds onto second in the championship.

Stephen arrived in a confident frame of mind being joint second in the championship. Simon Belcher was also looking forward to a return to form as he switched from the experimental water-cooled 1,250cc engine back to the 1,200cc air cooled motor.

Simon's lap times with the new engine were bang on the mark as he posted the fifth fastest time in the practice session (out of 27 entries) whilst Stephen was second.

Simon took third place overall on Saturday with the reversed grid races not providing any problems for his racecraft. He posted sixth place in race one, 2nd in race two and fourth in the final (from the back of the field). A non-finish for Stephen meant that he was pegged back to 8th overall.

The team excelled on Sunday taking first and second overall. Stephen's results of 3rd, 4th and 3rd saw him take the overall victory whilst Simon was second overall with 2nd, 6th and 5th.

"Race wins would be gratifying but Legends racing is about the day as a whole - the trophies are awarded to the top points scorers over the three races," commented Simon after the meeting. "Taking first and second in only our second race meeting as a team is incredible. For me - with the new 1,200 engine installed in the car - this is the real start of my season."

Simon has now moved into 7th place in the championship.
