Renault UK Clio Cup Championship
Rounds 15 & 16, Brands Hatch 20th-21st October 2012
Well folk’s here we are back at Brands Hatch where it all began back in April, the only difference this weekend is that the Clio’s will be using the Brands GP circuit which is only used a few times a year for major meetings such as Touring Cars, British Superbikes & DTM.
It doesn’t seem like 6 months has past since the championship began, however it is and it has been a big learning year for Simon in the #11 Renault Clio. Both Simon and The Handy Motorsport will have everything crossed hoping that Simon is able to clinch the Masters title at the first time of asking. The only pressure is likely to come from Michelle’s family, as she originates from this area the Handy Motorsport awning was the venue for a big get together, with everyone willing him on to win the ‘Masters’ title.

Rounds 13 & 14, Silverstone 6th-7th October 2012
The venue for rounds 13 & 14 of 2012 Air Asia Renault UK Clio Cup this weekend is Silverstone, affectionately known as ‘The Home Of British Motor Sport’. You will of course know it has and is the home of The British Formula 1 Grand Prix.
This is Simon’s second competitive visit to Silverstone as he raced here in 2011, in a Clio race that was part of The 2011 Renault World Series. This weekend the Clio’s will be competing on The National Circuit, which is one of Silverstone’s many circuit configurations.

Rounds 11 & 12, Rockingham 22nd-23rd September 2012
The Handy Motorsport Team roll in to Rockingham for rounds 11 & 12 of the championship and the rounds will come thick and fast from here on in. This is the weekend that we officially welcome Kenzie (Simon & Michelle’s Baby Daughter) to the team, as this is officially her first visit to the paddock.
It’s been a long time since Simon has raced at Rockingham, that was of course back in his Legends racing days. Rockingham is the UK’s most modern motorsport venue opened by The Queen on 26th May 2001, as well as being Europe's fastest racing circuit, with the only intermediate oval in the UK it also has no less than 14 different road course configurations, this weekend the Clio’s will be racing on the main road course which is 1.94 miles long.2012 Air Aisa Renault UK Clio Cup

Rounds 9 & 10, Snetterton 11th-12th August 2012
Well folk’s it seems like an eternity since the last time The Handy Motorsport Team were at a race circuit, early June if my memory serves me right & in that time life has been very hectic for Simon & Michelle. For those of you who are followers of the team you will know that at Oulton Park in June Michelle was heavily pregnant, well Handy Motorsports Pit Crew gained another member on the 15th July at 4.59 Kenzie Nadine Belcher was born, weighing in at a healthy 7lbs 4oz. Kenzie is obviously a very considerate girl as she chose to arrive 2 weeks early, so that she didn’t clash with her dads racing this weekend at Snetterton.

Rounds 7 & 8, Oulton Park 9th-10th June 2012
What have we done to the weather, as The Handy Motorsport Team they were greeted with damp conditions yet again, at least the temperature had gone up by a few degrees from rounds 5 & 6 at Thruxton. Oulton Park always attracts massive crowds whenever The BTCC package arrives in town, hopefully this weekend will be no different for rounds 7 & 8 of The 2012 Air Asia Renault UK Clio Cup Championship, the team are hoping for a dry track for this morning’s qualifying session.

So just 2 weeks ago we were at Brands Hatch for the first 2 rounds of this years Air Asia Renault UK Clio Cup Championship, now it’s Donington Park. The early rounds of this years championship come thick and fast because in two weeks from now the 28th and 29th
April we will be at Thruxton for rounds 5 & 6.

Well folks it seems like an age ago that we last left Swindon heading for a race circuit, but now it’s finally arrived. We wave goodbye to Legends & say hello to The Clio Cup, from here on in it is going to be the very serious stuff of motor racing.
Handy Motorsport – 2012 Air Asia Renault Clio Cup Begins...
Swindon based Handy Motorsport driver Simon Belcher has completed a very extensive programme of pre-season testing, ahead of the start of the 2012 Air Asia Renault Clio Cup, in a programme which has taken him along to many of the UK’s leading race circuits and also to a few other venues. Simon had 2 outings in his Clio last term at The Renault World Series at Silverstone & at the final round of the 2011 Clio Cup.
Handy Motorsport have joined forces with 3 time Clio Cup Championship winning Team Pyro and Simon has sourced the coaching skills of 2 prior champions Dave Newsham and Phil Glew in his bid to progress in what is probably one of the toughest UK championships.
Simon is more than satisfied with his car for the 2012 Air Asia Renault Clio Cup this year but says he has more to give as he bids to get the most out of the car, “it has been a very busy winter for both myself and the team making the transition from Legend’s to Clio’s and I have learnt a great deal but still every time I go to the track I just keep learning more, it’s not just about the driver in motorsport it is also about the team and the support network behind you”.
The Handy Motorsport team have secured title sponsorship for the 2012 season from KÄRCHER - “one of the world’s largest manufacturers of cleaning equipment”. Other sponsors include Abacus Insurance Services “a real personal insurance service” and i4 Retail Display - “who offer solutions for unrivalled retail display".
